Jalapeno Pepper is a compact fast growing annual that are ready for harvest in 70-90 days (green) to 80-100 days (red).  The 2-4" long pods are green when immature with a spicy crisp tang flavor and turn red as they mature with a sweeter and more complex flavor.  Best if grown in full sun and rich, moist, acidic well-drained soils.  Jalapeno has a spice range of 2500 to 8,000 Scoville Heat Units.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Water Regularly with 1-2 inches of water per week.  Do not transplant deeper than previously grown.  Blight, mildew, leaf spot, and mosaic virus can be issues, especially if soil is too moist or there's not good air circulation.  Aphids, borers, beetles, and cutworms can be occasional issues.
