Lemon Thyme is a small culinary evergreen shrub with a trailing habit grown for its dense lemon scented and flavored green foliage.  Its stems are thin yet woody, cut back in early spring to encourage new growth.   Fragrant pale lilac flowers bloom in summer attracting butterflies.  Grows best in full sun and well-drained soil.

Lemon Thyme's leaves can be used as an antiseptic and disinfectant.  Essential oils from the leaves are less of an irritant than other Thymes and is often used for aromatherapy for asthma and other respiratory issues.*
